Emerald is a rock band originating from Indonesia, was first formed in tahun1989 in Cimahi, West Java under the name Jamrock. Since the formation of emerald didepani by 'Aziz' Mangasi Siagian (guitar) and 'Ricky' Teddy (bass) and is known as a successful music group brings rock music as popular music in Indonesia in the 90-Background
Prior to Jamrud, the initial formation of Jamrock 'Azis' Mangasi Siagian (guitar), 'Ricky' Teddy (bass), Agus (drums) and Oppi (vocals), Gigi Band frontman Budhy Haryono also been a member of this band. This group several times through personnel changes, Budhy Haryono, former drummer Gigi also been joined by Jamrock. Formation Jamrock eventually became a popular form known by fans of the late '90s Azis (guitar), Ricky (bass), 'Anto' Krisyanto (vocals), 'Fitrah' Alamsyah (guitar) and 'Sandy' Handoko (drums).

Memjadi Jamrock music group that carries a respected rock music around the area of Bandung. At that time they mostly featuring songs from rock bands who have had other names. Increasing prestige of their time and Sandy Krisyanto Handoko (drums) joined the Jamrock. Krisyanto himself never won a title as the Best Rock Vocalist version of a rock festival in Bandung.
Satisfied brings the songs of others, in 1995, Azis, Ricky, Krisyanto and Sandy began writing material of their own songs and record their demo. They offer these demos to record labels Log Zhelebour (commonly called 'Log') which gives a warm welcome. Jamrock then got a contract to record and join the Log-owned record label, namely Logiss Records. With their entry into the log-owned record label, the name was changed to Jamrock Jamrud.

Success
Emerald is music matures and appearance under the care of the record label owned by the Log Zhelebour. Sales of their debut album Jamrud, Risked (1995) achieved sales figures of more than 100 thousand copies in a short time. Their success continued with their second album, Princess (1997), the sales figures reached 200 thousand pieces. The great advantage of the sale of albums Jamrud continue until they released Thank You (1999). The album was very popular among the younger generation of Indonesia at the time, especially through the song "rafting-raft" and "Thank You", so to touch the number sold 750 thousand copies, an extraordinary achievement for rock music album sales in Indonesia at that time.
Peak of commercial success is the album patrician Jamrud (2000) which recorded sales figures of one million copies in Indonesia with the popular single "Surti-Tejo" and "Rainbow in Your Eyes" in Indonesia.

Setback
The success they achieved could not be separated from an unexpected event. In 1999 Sandy Handoko and Fitrah Alamsyah died from an overdose of drugs. Their obituary Indonesia tumultuous music industry at that time. The position was later replaced by Sandy Handoko Suherman 'Herman' Husin.

Formation of new
Post-discharge Krisyanto, Jamrud in motion to recruit new personnel. Plus three new personnel into their band. They are Donald Amdonal Jaja (vocals), which replaces Krisyanto, Mochamad 'Irwan' (Guitar 2) and 'Danny' Rachman (drums) who replaced Suherman. With this line-titled album released Jamrud New Performance 2009 Citos released in Jakarta on March 16, 2009. Emerald plans to release a compilation album before doing the Tour in late 2009.
